Our Story
With over 30 years of experience in the hospitality and tourism industries in Egypt, I, Raouf, have had countless encounters with people from all over the world. Despite wildly different cultures and languages, one common connection I found with everyone was a shared love for good quality authentic food. As a result of these interactions, I was exposed to numerous different cuisines and quickly found a hobby in cooking.
As I ventured into the culinary arts, I started drawing inspiration from my experiences. Hailing from Egypt and having spent a couple of years immersing myself in Florence, Italy, I developed a knack for cooking Mediterranean food. My new hobby was quickly rewarded as friends and family delighted in tasting my dishes and expressed praise for it. After relocating to the US 5 years ago, I received similarly enthusiastic reception from new audiences, confirming that I had found my true passion. For the next few years, I gained valuable experience working for one of the biggest foodservice companies in the world, adding to their culinary portfolio with my signature dishes. After honing my craft, I am now humbly sharing my passion with you.
However, none of this would be possible without the help of my beautiful wife (and sous-chef), Yasmine, who not only believed in my culinary skills but convinced me to share this passion for food with others. Today, she plays an indispensable role in running the show from behind the scenes and overseeing our business. With her relentless support and excellent management, she is the heart and soul of R&Y Catering, and together, we want to provide you with the greatest quality food to suit your needs.
